About STE-MAC Engineering Ltd.

STE-MAC Engineering Services was formed in 2005 to provide civil engineering consulting in Nova Scotia. In 2009, STE-MAC Engineering Ltd. was incorporated to provide consulting services in the Atlantic Provinces and in the rest of Canada as opportunities arise. Steve MacDonald, B. Civil Engineering, P. Eng. is the President and Diane MacDonald, B. SA, B. Ed. is Office Manager and Secretary/Treasurer.

About Steve MacDonald, P.Eng:

Steve MacDonald graduated from St. Francis Xavier University, Antigonish, NS in 1970 with a Diploma in Engineering and from the Technical University of Nova Scotia in Halifax  in 1972 with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering. From 1972 to 1996, Steve worked as a Resident Engineer with the NS Department of Transportation and Public Works(NSTPW) responsible for surveys, road construction, paving, and bridge construction. In 1996, he became Project Engineer-Bridges with NSTPW with responsibilites for inspection, maintenance, repair and inventory control of over 1100 bridges in Cape Breton Island and Antigonish and Guysborough counties. He managed a steel bridge repair crew that did welding, repair, and installation of steel structures, including many steel truss bridges, some over 100 years old and still in service. Steve left NSTPW in 2005 to enter the engineering consulting field.

About Diane MacDonald, Office Manager:

Diane MacDonald graduated from St. Francis Xavier University, Antigonish, in 1974 with a Bachelor of Secretarial Arts degree and from Mount Saint Vincent University, Halifax, in 1977 with a Bachelor of Education degree.  From 1977 until 2008, Diane taught with the Inverness School Board,  Canso Regional Vocational School, Adult Vocational Training Center - Sydney, and NSCC Strait Area Campus.  During that time, Diane taught Introductory and Advanced Accounting, Simply and Acc-Pac Computerized Accounting, Introductory Computers, Business Math, and various business courses.  Diane was a member of the provincial curriculum committee responsible for the development  of the Business Information Technology program and the two year Accounting program for the Nova Scotia Community College.  In 2008, Diane joined STE-MAC Engineering as the Office Manager.
