Land Development

When land in Nova Scotia is subdivided into lots, application must be made to the local planning commissions and to the NS Department of Environment (DOE) who ensure that the lots are of sufficient size to treat on-site sewage and that there is access to public roads.  STE-MAC Engineering is hired by the owner to facilitate the process for approval.  Depending on soil types, land slopes, wetlands, streams, and wells,  STE-MAC Engineering recommends minimum sized lots and prepares plans showing each lot and the location of driveways, homes, sewer systems and wells.  Applications are sent to the planning commissions and DOE and after the approval is received the owner can proceed to offer lots for sale.
