Whycocomagh Fire Hall

The Whycocomagh and Area Volunteer Fire Department had outgrown its previous facilities and had arranged funding for a new fire hall.  STE-MAC Engineering offered to provide project management services free of charge and the fire department accepted.  The new fire hall was connected to available municipal water and sewer services.

The project consisted of land preparation, gravel sub base, insulated concrete walls, a reinforced concrete floor slab, in-floor heat, and an 18m by 30m hall.  STE-MAC Engineering was responsible for site services, specifications, tender documents, permits, and inspections.  The fire hall has become a community centre, has increased income from facility rentals, and provides a base for the EHS ambulance service.
