Wetlands and Environmental

Wetlands are treated as a very valuable resource in the Province of Nova Scotia.  Wetlands provide habitat for animals, birds, fish, and insects and serve as a source of water storage in times of droughts. Permits are required for access to or modifications to a wetland.  Part of the process is to assess several parameters to determine if the area in question is in fact a wetland and subject to regulations.

Steve MacDonald, P. Eng. of STE-MAC Engineering is registered as a person who can assess wetlands.  STE-MAC Engineering is also involved in obtaining permits and design of armour rock protection to limit erosion and scour along marine shorelines and river banks.  STE-MAC Engineering obtains permits and does design of docks, wharves, and boat launch ramps.
